The striker is desperate to lift major silverware with his boyhood club and is excited to have been given the No.9 shirt once again. Fernando Torres says he would give everything to win La Liga with Atletico Madrid before he retires.
The former Chelsea striker won the Segunda title with Atleti back in 2002 but has never managed to clinch a top-flight domestic league winners’ medal after missing out on Premier League glory with both Liverpool and Chelsea.
Having rejoined the 2013-14 Spanish champions last season, however, Torres is now desperate to get his hands on the trophy.
“There are still trophies for me to win. For example, I’m missing a league title. I have never won one and it would be very special to win it with Atletico,” he told a press conference ahead of the pre-season clash with Shanghai SIPG.
“You’ve always got to go for everything. I’d give my life and everything I have to win that.
