Manchester City have moved to trump Arsenal for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
The Frenchman is a major target for the Gunners, which are willing to go to €60 million for the Real forward.
However, Corriere dello Sport says City are prepared to OUTBID Arsenal for Benzema with an offer of €70 million.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini has declared they could yet make several "special" signings in the coming weeks.
Benzema is demanding first-choice status from Real coach Rafa Benitez to stay.
