Leicester City on Course, Arsenal and Tottenham, Title Contenders…

Leicester was typically determined on Sunday but edged by Arsenal in a match where the final score line perhaps flattered the Foxes. Intriguingly, the league leaders’ destiny is completely in its own hands.

Tottenham made it five wins on the bounce on Sunday and although Manchester City enjoyed the majority of the chances it was Pochettino’s Spurs who showed the deadliest eye for goal, netting two of their three shots on target. They’re the most consistent, well balanced side at present but a cluttered fixture list awaits the north London outfit. It’s a crunch six week period for the side with the best defence in the competition, best goal difference and the second most goals, behind Leicester and City, joint first. Importantly, their next fixture against a title rival, against Arsenal, comes on their turf.

Arsene Wenger’s side appeared to be stuck in its typical late January/early February rut not long ago, but determined victories over Bournemouth and Leicester have proved the fire is very much burning inside the Gunners’ artillery. A tricky fixture list awaits, including away games at Manchester United, Tottenham and Everton.

Manchester City have become flat track bullies, having lost to all of their top four rivals, and are without a win over any top six side. Indeed, they have only three wins against top 10 sides. Consecutive home losses to title rivals Leicester and Tottenham have come after the announcement Pep Guardiola will take over from Manuel Pellegrini at season’s end. Whether that is coincidental or not, both fixtures have seen City demonstrate a lack of cutting edge in front of goal, while their midfield has simply been overrun by more determined outfits.

The league leaders rested all week and would be in fresh shape to continue an unbelievable push for the title. Leicester City were underdog at the beginning of the season, they stood their ground and establish themselves as title favorites.
Leicester defeated Norwich away from home in October with Vardy scoring a brace. I really don’t expect much from an unconvinced Norwich side.
Leicester City will thrash them, thus, sending a message to their title contenders.
My Verdict: Leicester 3:0 Norwich

Manchester united are playing badly at the moment, it has been like that for them all season. Teams don’t get scared again coming down to the ‘Theatre of Dream’, if seems the theatre have lost its fire and special treats.
Arsenal will pose a proper threat, particularly if they stick to their playing style and with Sanchez, Ozil and Giroud at their best. It will be a white washing of Manchester united at Old Trafford. Arsenal thrashed Manchester United 3nil at the Emirates? Why not again?
I am personally not inspired to write a review on Manchester United, they have become so boring to watch. I give it all to Arsenal, 3 points. This is a vital 3 points in the race for the Title.
My Verdict: Man Utd 1:2 Arsenal

Tottenham's players are starting to believe they can win the Premier League title this season, their reaction after the victory against Manchester City shows it. Spurs have not been so high up in the table after 25 games played since 2012, when they finished fourth, and they have not won the league title since 1961.
Having lost to Crystal Palace on Sunday, they have only the Premier League to fight for, it place them in a pole of full concentration to push for the Title.
Swansea have proven to be goal scorers since the emergence of Ayew and Gomis smooth partnership. Though, they have not been consistent in recent weeks, and that have really affected their standing on the league table. Losing to Southampton dropped them to number sixteen with -34 goals deficit.
This should be a sure win for Tottenham, with at least 2 goals margin. I predict a win and over 1.5 goals.
My Verdict: Tottenham 2:1 Swansea
