Fiorentina, meanwhile, maintained their push for Champions
League qualification with a dramatic 3-2 win over Atalanta in Bergamo. Fiorentina
kept hold of third place, but found it much harder than expected to win a
five-goal thriller away to Atalanta. Atalanta
2 - 3 Fiorentina
Bologna brought an end to the 15-round winning streak, as
Juventus were held to a goalless draw at the Dall’Ara. Bologna 0 - 0 Juventus
Lazio were held to a goalless draw away to relegation
battlers Frosinone, though both sides had good chances. Frosinone 0 - 0 Lazio
Genoa moved six points clear of the bottom three courtesy of
a 2-1 win over Udinese, for whom veteran striker Antonio Di Natale missed a
last-minute penalty. Mattia Perin was hero and villain, as his howler gifted
Udinese a goal, but he secured victory by saving an Antonio Di Natale penalty. Genoa 2 - 1 Udinese
Inter ended their negative run of results with a 3-1 win,
sending Sampdoria spiralling into the danger zone. Inter 3 - 1 Sampdoria
Roma’s 5-0 victory over Palermo may have lifted them above
Inter and into fourth place in Serie A, but it was Francesco Totti who captured
most of the attention at the Stadio Olimpico.
The 39-year-old club captain attended the game despite having
earlier been sent home from the squad’s training base over comments he made
regarding his future and relationship with coach Luciano Spalletti. Roma 5-0
Palermo had it all with Edin Dzeko’s horror miss and brace, Mohamed Salah’s
impossible goal and Kevin Strootman’s comeback. Roma 5 - 0 Palermo
Sassuolo ended their run of seven games without a win by
coming from behind to beat Empoli 3-2. Sassuolo fought back to beat Empoli 3-2
in a thoroughly entertaining game, including two debatable red cards. Sassuolo 3 - 2 Empoli
Carpi grabbed a point away to troubled Torino thanks to Vid
Belec’s save on a Maxi Lopez penalty. Torino

Verona got their second victory of the campaign and bragging
rights in the Derby della Scala, but Hellas and Chievo saw red. Verona 3 - 1 Chievo
Napoli
failed to recapture the Serie A leadership after Jack Bonaventura replied to
Lorenzo Insigne, but Milan were saved by the post. Napoli 1 - 1 Milan

Despite
losing the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Carlos Tevez during the
summer, losing key games at the beginning of the season, Juventus have
reestablished themselves as a title favorite.
In the past
46 matches between Inter Milan and Juventus, Juventus have recorded double the
number of victories as Inter, with 22 wins being earned compared to 12 for
Inter Milan.
Since
October 2010, a five-year period which has seen 10 fixtures being played,
Juventus have won six times and suffered just the one setback.
Despite
Inter producing the better results and performances since the start of the
season, the recent matches between the two teams must be taken into
consideration. Juventus have not lost on their last five visits to San Siro to
play Inter, and we are backing that trend to continue with the visitors
potentially having the firepower to grind out a win, but I doubt that would
happen this Sunday in Turin.
My
prediction would be a 2-1 win for Juventus over Inter Milan. Allegri's boys
will keep on momentum despite a minor setback against Bologna. There is a good
chance that they can win their fifth straight domestic title.
My Verdict: Juventus 2:1 Inter Milan

One of the
two derby matches in Serie A this weekend will be played at Stadio San Paolo on
Sunday when the home side Fiorentina lock horns with Napoli, who have been the one
of the biggest surprise of the season so far.
Buoyed by
their comprehensive league momentum, the Azzurri will lack no motivation coming
into the derby game against Fiorentina. Napoli are currently sitting in second
place 57 points in 26matches and the potential win over Fiorentina on Sunday
could reignite the title chase.
My Verdict: Fiorentina 2:2 Napoli
